Before & After Care
ASA is proud to offer our students and their families on-site care before and following the school day.
Family Registration Forms must be completed each school year and returned to the school prior to the first day of attending. A one time $20.00 registration fee will be charged and will be added to the first invoice.
About Kids Club
Asteroids Kids Club is provided to ASA students for a small cost to families in order to cover operating expenses. Any proceeds go directly back into supporting your child’s school. In Asteroids Kids Club, your child will do various activities safely under the supervision of ASA staff members. Along with daily homework help, students will be provided with opportunities for daily outside play and a healthy snack. All school policies and expectations of behavior will be upheld. Options for students to choose how to spend their time include: supervised socializing with class/schoolmates, homework help, outside play (free time & organized games), inside free-time or focused arts & crafts activities.
Before Care
Offered from 7:00am-8:30am
Staff will be available to welcome students, assist with any needs they may have and to provide structured activities as needed.
Breakfast is available to all students starting at 8:30am. Breakfast is included as a part of the school’s meal program and is of no charge to students or families.
After Care
Offered from 3:30pm-6:00pm
Students participating in the After Care program will be given the opportunity to complete daily homework, play games outside and have creative free time. Please be sure your child is sent with appropriate outdoor attire everyday as we go outside whenever weather is permitting. One snack will be provided daily. Families who have a child with food allergies or intolerances will need to advise staff and also bring a snack from home each day.
Billing & Fees
Before School Care: $8.00/Hour Per Child, Billed by the Minute, Up to a Maximum Charge of $10.00 Per Child Each Day. Ie.: if your child is checked in at 8:15, you would be charged for 15 minutes ($2.50). If your child is checked in at 7:00, there would be a maximum charge of $10 for the one and one half hours.
After School Care: $15.00/Day Per Child, Flat Rate
After School Care: $10.00/Per Child, if picked up prior to 4:00pm
Rates for Families Receiving Educational Benefits*

The Art and Science Academy is offering free and reduced rates for our Asteroids Kids Club program to families who qualify for educational benefits. Please complete the Application for Educational Benefits and return it to either the Elementary or Middle School front office. If you qualify for free meals for the current school year, then your student(s) may utilize the Asteroids Kids Club program at no additional cost to you. If you qualify for reduced meals for the school year, then your student(s) may utilize the Asteroids Kids Club program at a reduced cost of 50% of the fee for the program.
Drop Off & Pick Up Process
Drop Off: Students who utilize Before Care MUST either sign in or be signed in by a parent. Students who are dropped off for the school day before 8:30am will be sent to Before Care, or a parent will be contacted to come back if the student does not have paperwork on file for Kids Club.
Pick Up: Every child MUST be signed out. Students will not be sent to cars idling in the parking lot; an adult from the child’s approved list MUST come into the building to sign them in or out. Please be prepared to show a government issued photo ID.
Protocol for Incliment Weather
CLOSINGS:
If school is closed, the Before & After Care Program is also closed.
EARLY DISMISSAL:
For the safety of all, we encourage parents to pick up children as early as possible. The program will be open, however, until all children are signed out.
DELAYED/LATE OPENINGS:
The Before Care Program will be not be open if there is a delayed/late start for the safety of all.
